  • Construction Accountant - BRE Hotels & Resorts

  • We continue to grow and are currently seeking a Senior Project/Construction Accountant with at least 5 years of residential and/or commercial construction accounting experience. This individual will be involved in the day-to-day accounting of project financials as well as other accounting related duties. This position is located on Oahu with extensive time spent at the Turtle Bay Resort as well as the outer islands.

    The Construction Accountant will work closely with project managers, purchasing, accounts payable, and other field and corporate office team members. Responsibilities will include but may not be limited to assisting with the following tasks:

    • Job cost accounting
    • Analysis of budget vs actual job costs
    • Bank Reconciliations
    • Weekly review of A/P invoices and coding to proper cost codes and confirming the proper approval has been received
    • Review of monthly pay app submittals and confirm the accuracy 
    • Balance Sheet Reconciliations
    • Cash management and reporting
    • Monthly bank draw submittals
    • Audit requests
    • Support the project team
    • Support corporate staff with other duties on an as-needed basis

    We are looking for a flexible, detail-oriented team player with the ability to manage multiple tasks, produce quality work, and consistently meet deadlines. The successful candidate will possess:

    • Excellent listening skills and strong oral and written communication skills
    • The ability to identify, analyze and resolve complex issues
    • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
    • Follow through to ensure tasks are progressing and completed
    • Efficient and effective computer skills in Microsoft Office applications (Advance Excel User)
    • 5+ years of experience as a cost accountant within the Construction Industry
    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
    • A strong work ethic, deadline driven and a “can-do anything” attitude
