  • Risk Management Intern

  • Due to the continued growth of our organization, Revantage Corporate Services has decided to bring on a Risk Management Intern. The Risk Internship will provide a general overview all areas of risk management with a team that supports a dynamic real estate portfolio. The intern will have the opportunity to meet with insurance professionals from both the broker and underwriting sides of the business. Upon conclusion of the summer program, they will have a broad understanding of the day to day responsibilities of a risk management team and how we coordinate with both internal and external colleagues. This position is based out of Revantage’s headquarters in Chicago, IL.


    Revantage Corporate Services was created in August 2017 to provide corporate services consisting of HR, Finance, Tax, Legal, Risk Management and Technology to real estate portfolio companies owned by Blackstone funds, in various sectors including multifamily (LivCor), commercial office (Equity Office), retail (ShopCore), hotel (BRE Hotels & Resorts), and industrial (Link).  As Revantage expands, it could provide services to additional Blackstone companies. 


    Our 2020 summer internship program will begin June 2020 and last through August 2020. To be eligible, you must be a college student during the time of the internship program. 


    • Manage special analytical risk management assignments, including compilation, review and analysis of underwriting data needed for various insurance renewals including, but not limited to, general liability, auto, property, excess liability, workers compensation, pollution, flood and management liability
    • Key member on generating a cost of risk financial analysis for insurance programs and captive insurance company
    • Maintain and expand the Insurance Policy summary document
    • Assist with claim tracking and research coverage issues
    • Run Property Valuation reports
    • Help with tenant audit requests for invoices
    • Assist with communication and implementation of insurance property loss control recommendations
    • Responsible for assuring Certificates of Insurance, auto ID cards, etc. are issued, coordinating with Insurance Brokers when issues arise and continually reviewing for accuracy and need


    • Current junior undergraduate student at an accredited four-year institution (graduating 2021)
    • Pursuing Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in Risk Management and/or related fields of study such as Actuarial, Business Administration, or Finance
    • Basic proficiency in MS Excel and Word
    • A desire to learn the functions of a risk management department and a strong ability to work in a team environment
    • Strong attention to detail
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
    • Ability to work in Chicago in a full-time capacity for 10 weeks, beginning in June of 2020
