Senior Manager, Corporate Accounting/Finance

The Senior Manager of Corporate Accounting & Finance will oversee the activities of the Corporate Accounting and Finance department. The role oversees the general ledger close for Revantage and the portfolio companies,  prepares financial statements and budget to actual variance analysis, oversees reporting (inhouse and external), oversees the overall cost allocation methodology and invoicing process, and manages the budgeting and forecasting activities for Revantage and the portfolio companies. In addition, the role will assist with the preparation of financial data for quarterly board meetings – both for internal management and Blackstone.This position is based out of Revantage’s headquarters in Chicago, IL.

HOW YOU ADD VALUE

Client Service

  • Establish and nurture strong relationships with portfolio companies and Blackstone, building trust while overseeing their accounting operations
  • Develop a strong working knowledge of the company's business to drive client visibility into financial trends and key financial metrics
  • Partner with the client to provide financial recommendations and solutions
  • Provides excellent client service to corporate cost centers, portfolio companies and other accounting customers insuring that their information needs and reporting requirements are met.

Corporate Accounting & Finance

  • Responsible for the monthly closing process for corporate cost centers and/or one or more Portfolio Companies with varied organizational structures and reporting requirements
  • Reviews schedules and reconciliations to support general ledger balances for corporate cost centers and bank reconciliations
  • Manages the annual budget and periodic reforecast for corporate cost centers including Revanatage and calculates the allocation of the budgeted costs to the portfolio companies supported by Revantage
  • Produces monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and budget to actual variance analysis for Revantage and/or one or more Portfolio Companies
  • Collaborates with cost center managers to calculate allocation of cost center expenses to portfolio companies supported by Revantage.  Prepares and bills cost allocations to portfolio companies and underlying properties, prepares true-up of estimated billings, tracks payment, and reconciles inter-company receivables and payables
  • Assists in the preparation of materials for board meetings, portfolio companies, management requests and Blackstone requests
  • Works with external audit and consulting firms as required
  • Maintain and adhere to existing accounting policies and assist in the development and implementation of new policies
  • Proposes and assists in implementing change to current processes that may be identified as needing improvement
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant accounting or finance experience
  • Minimum 3 years people management experience
  • Knowledge of US GAAP
  • Commercial real estate knowledge
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office (must be highly proficient in Excel), accounting software and databases
  • Excellent communication, problem solving and interpersonal skills necessary
  • Ability to multi-task and manage shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work both independently and in a team environment

Preferred:

  • CPA Certification and/or Masters degree
  • Knowledge of Workday Accounting Software
