Why This Role Is Valuable  

The Software Engineer in Test (SET) role is responsible for our automated testing strategies and test cases.  This role requires the ability to understand complex systems and interactions, develop tests, and meticulously document defects. The SET will have an affinity for software development, software testing, automation, and the implementation of tools and platforms that improve our quality metrics. This position can be based out of Revantage’s headquarters in Chicago or New York, Dallas or Miami..  Ideal candidates are naturally curious, are constantly looking out for and eliminating edge cases, and recognize the value of automation and test development early in the development process. 

How You Add Value

  • Ownership of the design, development, execution and evolution of our automated tests, underlying frameworks, and related processes for our products 
  • Work within our product development teams to understand and participate in product objective, architecture, technical design definition 
  • Support a move to continuous integration and deployment processes 
  • Plan and implement tests across the gamut of functional, contract, unit, regression, integration, load & performance testing approaches 
  • Develop, execute, and enhance automated testing scripts, capable of self-validation through log analysis, data matching to validate expected results and error reporting to support root cause analysis 
  • Perform, and support collaborative root cause analysis and automate RCA routines to improve automation 
  • Work with key end users of application to understand usage and production issues to fine tune test case coverage for critical functionality while optimizing time to production 

What You Bring To The Role



  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related experience 
  • Minimum 5 years of software engineering experience, with 2 years SET experience 
  • Significant experience with data pipelines and ETL processes 
  • Comfortable writing software in Python, Java, Scala, Go, or Javascript contexts 
  • Knowledge of testing methodologies, frameworks and tools. BDD/TDD experience highly preferred. 
  • Experience interacting with RESTful API's, microservices, and JSON data 
  • Ability to create detailed, comprehensive and well-structured software test plans that cover all possible test cases to verify feature functionality 
  • Ability to design tools and design/develop libraries in automation framework
