WHY THIS ROLE IS VALUABLE   

Revantage is seeking a seasoned engineering manager to lead the transformation of our engineering culture, develop our people, and oversee the development of high quality, impactful technology. The Vice President, Engineering role will oversee Revantage’s software engineering function and lead the implementation of new processes, structure, tooling, and engineering practices to enable high performance and growth. Ideal candidates will excel at attracting and retaining talent more capable than themselves, creating an environment that empowers their teams to do their best work, mentoring team members, and breaking down barriers. We are looking for leader who has technical depth and breadth, but is comfortable delegating and empoweringWe’re looking for leaders who possess strong instincts, have a track record of success, and are comfortable creating solutions that resolve complexity and ambiguity. This position will be based out of Revantage’s headquarters in Chicago, IL. 

HOW YOU ADD VALUE 

  • Train, develop, coach, and mentor the engineering team and management staff 
  • Lead the development and application of key measures and best practices for talent growth and development 
  • Create a positive culture to maximize productivity and minimize attrition 
  • Utilize performance review cycles to reiterate expectations and discuss methods to achieve and exceed them
  • Act as a strong advocate for quality in the product development process for software engineering 
  • Manage the overall operational, budgetary, and financial responsibilities and activities of Engineering 
  • Plan and implement systems and processes to fulfill the mission and the goals of the Engineering efficiently and effectively 
  • Plan and allocate resources to effectively meet departmental productivity and quality goals 
  • Drive business decisions that are financially responsible, accountable, justifiable, and aligned to the execution of our vision and strategy 
  • Establish and maintain relevant controls and feedback systems to monitor and ensure the success of the team 
  • Formulates long-term objectives and standards of performance for the engineering and design groups 
  • Develop architectural standards in conjunction with the principal engineer and tech lead community 
  • Work closely with product and project management teams to ensure product deliverables, timelines, and KPIs are met 

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE  
Required:  

  • STEM Bachelor’s Degree or related degree 
  • Minimum 12 years of software engineering experience 
  • Minimum 5 years in engineering leadership, ideally in large-scale service oriented or data-related contexts 
  • Demonstrated hands-on Engineering experience delivering enterprise-grade data, analytics, reporting, or machine learning products/solutions 
  • Strong interpersonal skills, demonstrating an ability to work well with and enthusiastically influence teams & stakeholders 
  • Strong mentorship, relationship management, project management, problem solving and change management skills 
  • Excellent planning skills coupled with a strong oral and written communications capabilities
