Why This Role Is Valuable 

The Business Analyst role is within Revantage’s Risk group with a specific focus on Gryphon Mutual Insurance Company (“Gryphon”). Gryphon is Blackstone Real Estate’s captive insurance company. Established in 2020, the program provides property insurance across 18 portfolio companies, and over 5,100 assets across the US and Canada.

 

The role is focused on the synthesis and review of information from multiple stakeholders  including Revantage, Aon, Blackstone, Gryphon, and Blackstone’s portfolio companies. The role has exposure to both the insurance and real estate sectors. The primary deliverables will be the creation and management of key reporting and decision-making outputs for review by senior executives at Revantage, Aon, and Blackstone. The role will have a high degree of exposure to strategic meetings and decision making within Gryphon. As Gryphon pursues additional growth areas across the Blackstone portfolio, there is an opportunity for role expansion. This position is based out of Revantage’s headquarters in Chicago, IL.

 

How You Add Value

  • Produce Annual Insurance Program Renewal Summary for renewal of $150mm+ property insurance program
  • Create Communication Report for Mutual Members opining on insurance market performance and Gryphon financial performance
  • Maintain Bi-Weekly Dashboard for delivery to key senior executives at Revantage, Aon, and Blackstone
  • Aggregate real-time catastrophe data for reporting of major events to Revantage and Blackstone senior leadership
  • Generate communication to portfolio companies on disaster response efforts.
  • Maintain Emergency Response Vendor list by asset and assist & train portfolio companies on vendor roll outs and servicing

What You Bring To The Role

 

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Accounting, (Computational/Quantitative) Finance, Economics or related field required
  • Minimum 3 years insurance, consulting, accounting,  or professional services experience
  • Demonstrable and current in-depth knowledge and understanding of the real estate and hotel industries and sectors, including the main products and services produced and processes used
  • First-class interpersonal skills, including relationship building and maintenance
  • Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
  • Excellent communication (verbal & written), numerical, presentation & organizational skills
  • Highly motivated with the ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where superior time-management and prioritization skills are essential

Preferred: 

  • Relevant professional designation (e.g. CPCU, ARM)
