Why This Role Is Valuable  

The Accountant, Residential is responsible in the preparation and review of Fund Level Reporting and Analysis, Control Implementation, Refinement and Improvement and the updating of Standard Operating Procedures. The Accountant, Residential will also partner with the BREIT Managers by preparing Data Feeds for State Street and acting as the BREIT Financial Close Manager. This position is based out of Revantage’s headquarters in Chicago, IL.

 

How You Add Value

Functional

  • Partner with BREIT Fund Manager on Controls
    • Develop robust Control Narratives
    • Refine, Align and Improve Control Process across Asset Classes and Funds
    • Develop Standard Operating Procedures
  • Responsible for Fund upper tier entity accounting inclusive of Promote Accounting
    • Responsible for Upper Tier Data Loads
    • Reconciliation to State Street
  • Partner with Fund Reporting Lead to prepare and review various Fund Level reporting inclusive of SEC Reporting and Controls.
    • SOC 1 Review and Mapping
    • SEC disclosure schedules
    • Non-GAAP NOI Reports
    • Cash flow and available funds reporting
    • Financial statement review between Portfolio Company’s and State Street
    • 10Q/ 10K Reconciliation
  • Partner with Accounting Manager- BREIT
    • Maintain Account Mappings to State Street
    • Chart of Account updates for BX Requirements
    • Data Feeds to State Street
  • Coordinate report updates and reviews with Managers and Accountants on the BREIT Team
  • Confirm that BREIT Reporting is in accordance with GAAP or Internal Asset Management Reporting, ensuring results properly reflect the company’s financial position

Relationship Management

  • Responsible for Blackstone and the various Portfolio Company’s satisfaction with the accounting team’s performance, responsiveness, and interactions
  • Lead initiatives to ensure smooth business partner experience across the team
  • Become day-to-day go-to person for Revantage business partners and Blackstone
  • Respond to business partner inquiries and commit to deliverables by leveraging resources across the team
  • Partner with senior managers to identify and drive external relationships with the team’s key contacts and stakeholders
  • Assist BREP and BPP Teams with Control Process Refinement and Standard Operating Procedures on an as-needed basis

What You Bring To The Role

 

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a major in Finance, Accounting, or closely related field
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in accounting, financial analysis, and reporting
  • Advanced knowledge of US GAAP
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office Suite
  • Advanced knowledge of accounting software and databases (ARGUS, Workday, Yardi)
  • Proficient understanding of financial models, corporate financials, internal controls, and regulatory market
  • Excellent communication, problem solving and interpersonal skills necessary
  • Ability to multi-task and manage shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work both independently and in a team environment
  • Available for limited travel

Preferred:

  • Public Accounting Experience
  • CPA certification
  • Real estate knowledge
