WHY THIS ROLE IS VALUABLE   

The Senior Associate Vice President of Portfolio Company Communications will be responsible for promoting and protecting the reputation of Blackstone real estate portfolio companies, with a focus on a leading player in affordable housing. The successful candidate will work closely with the Revantage Communications team and Blackstone Public Affairs on all communications matters, serving as a key advisor to leadership. This individual will be responsible for developing and leading the overall communications strategy, including media relations, executive comms, and crisis management. 

 

HOW YOU ADD VALUE 

  • Develop and execute communications strategies that support business objectives.  
  • Manage media relations, building strong networks with key stakeholders and partners.  
  • Provide strategic counsel to executive leadership teams regarding reputational threats and opportunities.  
  • Manage crisis communications, coordinating relevant teams to develop integrated strategy; establish a process to rapidly act as needed 
  • Develop communication materials for CEO and executive leadership team, including messaging and talking points, Q&As, employee communications, social and digital content, and other written materials.  
  • Collaborate across the organizations to communicate key business milestones, including but not limited to new hires and ESG initiatives. Lead a regular cadence of outreach and education to key external stakeholders on issues of strategic importance.  
  • manage agency partner relationships in partnership with Revantage and Blackstone communications team,.  
  • Support execution of executive speaking engagements and events; review/draft and approval of supporting materials such as key message documents, Q&A, and other briefing materials.  
  • Provide support and counsel on branding/marketing materials 

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE

Required:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public RelationsMarketing or related field 
  • Minimum 10 years PR/communications experience 
  • Strategic leader and creative thinker with a track record of supporting complex organizations in all aspects of communication.  
  • Team player with a can-do attitude and the ability to manage multiple senior stakeholders across several organizations. 
  • The ability to build an effective network of relationships with key external decision makers as a means of influencing and enhancing organizational reputation.  
  • Experience of developing successful communications strategies which are effectively deployed across multiple audiences.  
  • Excellent writer with strong ability to understand, clearly synthesize, and integrate complex issues in presentations, messaging documents and other communication(s) with key senior-level internal and external audiences.  
  • Relationship driven, with an ability to work autonomously, while maintaining a coordinated approach with the Revantage and Blackstone communications team.  
  • Proven experience in managing traditional and social media relations.  
  • Personal credibility in front of senior internal and external audiences. 
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint 

Preferred:  

  • In-house and Agency experience 
  • Experience in the residential Real Estate industry a plus
