Why This Role Is Valuable  

The AVP, Operations role will directly oversee all aspects of the People Operations team supporting over 1,700 employees nationwide. Responsible for managing and driving payroll and benefits administration.

How You Add Value

  • Build relationships with the external Professional Employer Organization and other benefit vendors to ensure that that the quality of service provided meets expectations
  • Attract, retain, and engage high performing team of People & Culture payroll and benefits professionals
  • Oversee all payroll administration process schedules, identifying opportunities for improved efficiency and accuracy
  • Oversee People technology, including payroll and time & attendance systems, owning system access and data security
  • Manage the running of monthly and quarterly payroll reports as needed
  • Manage ongoing benefit administration, including overseeing enrollment and invoice processing
  • Manage annual benefits renewal process, including identifying areas for improvement with benefits offering, developing business cases, and implementing changes as needed
  • Design and implement employee wellbeing platform
  • Responsible for the reporting compliance for Affirmative Action Plan Review and EEO-1 reports, as well as other benefit compliance related reporting
  • Assist with the onboarding of new portfolio companies on the payroll and benefits platform

What You Bring To The Role


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field
  • Minimum of 7 years of payroll and benefits experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a management role, identifying and building high-performing teams
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with stakeholders, including team members, management, external parties
  • Experience presenting to C-Suite executives
  • Highly proficient with Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Self-motivated with the ability to excel and be flexible in fast-paced, ever-changing environments
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Extensive knowledge of applicable state and federal employment, wage & hour, and labor laws


  • Experience working in shared service environment or with outsourced service providers
