Why This Role Is Valuable  

Global Data Governance comprises a team of data professionals focused on delivering solutions to improve decision-making, optimize internal business processes, increase operational efficiency, and ultimately, transform data into actionable insights. The Quality and Governance Lead will lead Data Governance and quality assurance as a strategic discipline and drive governance council activities. The Quality and Governance Lead will shape and refine the overall missions and goals of the governance program and ensure alignment to Revantage’s overall strategic objectives and Data & Analytics vision and strategy.

How You Add Value

• Define, document, and evangelize data and analytics governance policies to key constituents across the organization including leadership, business stakeholders, and data stewards
• Focus heavily on defining a strategic vision for a Data Quality and Certification program and will work with engineers on implementation
• Work with Data & Analytics leadership to set targets for the program, evaluate conformance to information asset policies, and provide the organization’s data stewards with focused direction and refine policy as needed
• Collaborate heavily with Technology and Data teams, as well as business stakeholders and data consumers to review and approve policies, establish scope of the program, and document data and analytics governance and quality assurance policies
• Work collaboratively, approving and reviewing policies, establishing scope of the program and documenting data and analytics governance and quality assurance policies
• Work with global team to integrate Alation into their ecosystem and processes. Revantage has implemented the Alation Catalog tool as a global platform for Data Discovery and management of its enterprise data assets
• Educate stakeholders and promote data health
• Facilitate the development and implementation of data quality standards, data protection standards and adoption requirements across the enterprise
• Conduct problem and trend analyses to identify and correct reoccurring data issues and increase overall data quality
• Monitor data for end-to-end business applications or infrastructure to proactively identify or resolve problems
• Drive improvements in overall quality assurance and quality control, automation and testing processes and techniques
• Automate and execute standard SQL queries to continuously monitor and troubleshoot data quality and data integrity issues
• Work directly with Technology and Data leadership, business analysts, and data stewards to develop business rules, processes, and data quality rules
• Establish tools and operating model processes and activities to encourage communication and collaboration across the data domains

What You Bring To The Role

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree required
• Minimum 7 years of work experience in a quality assurance and governance capacity
• Proficiency in data quality measurement, including understanding of completeness, uniqueness, validity, accuracy, integrity, timeliness, etc.
• Understanding of the end-to-end data life cycle requirements of key business processes
• Demonstrated experience related to data quality, records management, security and privacy concepts, best practices, and tools/technologies
• Experience in data profiling and cataloguing
• Experience creating and tracking metrics / reports regarding Data Quality
• Experience bridging IT and Business domains with respect to data governance priorities
• Experience with and knowledge of privacy and security standards, policies, and implementation
• Previous exposure to data integration and management in a complex environment
• Ability and desire to learn and apply new technical tools and trends

• Master’s Degree
