  WHY THIS ROLE IS VALUABLE

The Sr. AVP, Casualty Claims Lead role is within Revantage’s Risk group with a specific focus on complex liability claims and analysis within the master general liability program. The role is focused on large and/or complex liability claims, including the review and escalation of claims information from multiple stakeholders including Revantage, Blackstone, our insurance carriers, and Blackstone’s portfolio companies. The role has exposure to both the insurance and real estate sectors. The primary deliverables will be oversight of complex liability claims, including working with outside counsel to determine settlement strategy, as well as the creation and management of claims-related information and decision-making outputs for review by senior executives at Revantage, our brokers, and Blackstone. The ideal candidate will be a proactive, high energy problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced environment with many diverse stakeholders.

HOW YOU ADD VALUE

• Oversee and manage the liability claims team
• Conduct quarterly complex claim reviews with Portfolio Companies/ Revantage/Blackstone, including developing analysis and summaries of complex claims, as well as recommendations for resolution and validation of related reserves
• Evaluate and support insured general liability claims and high exposure liability claims in conjunction with Claims and Legal department via the use and management of Origami (internal RMIS system)
• Mitigate losses, control expenses, and provide settlement authority for our company’s largest general liability losses
• Utilize and attend arbitration, appraisal, and alternate dispute resolution meetings
• Review appropriate policies and endorsements for coverage, limits, and deductibles
• Facilitate claim reviews and provide risk and insurance team (or others) with ad hoc analyses of claims reporting and tracking to be communicated to portfolio company stakeholders
• Works with high authority limits on assignments, reflecting a high degree of technical complexion and coordination
• Communicates important updates to key stakeholders in the forms of reports, schedules, and document collections
• Strategizes on complex losses with assistance from internal Legal and outside counsel
• Oversees litigation management/process for insured claims – working with Legal
• Management and development of panel counsel
• Completes monthly reports on high exposure/litigated claims
• Oversees loss portfolio transfer/commutation activities
• Develops process to onboard open liabilities/claims from entity deals

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree
• Minimum 10 years legal, claims or risk management experience with a focus on liability
• Demonstrable and current in-depth knowledge and understanding of the real estate industry preferred
• First-class interpersonal skills, including relationship building and maintenance
• Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
• Possesses a high and extensive level of technical knowledge and skills, including product and industry
• Excellent communication (verbal & written), numerical, presentation & organizational skills
• Highly motivated with the ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast- paced, dynamic environment where superior time-management and prioritization skills are essential
• Be willing to travel 10-25% domestically

Preferred:

• Relevant professional designation (e.g., CPCU, ARM)
• Juris Doctorate
