The Sr. Associate, ESG & Inclusion Communications is responsible for promoting and protecting Blackstone Real Estate’s reputation as a leading player in the Real Estate sector. The successful candidate will work closely with Revantage stakeholders, as well as Blackstone and its real estate portfolio companies. The Sr. Associate, ESG & Inclusion Communications is a skilled writer and communicator, who works on day-to-day sustainability/ESG and Inclusion storytelling and communications. The individual will work on inclusion, diversity and equity comms and find ways to weave themes from ESG/Inclusion into broader company messaging. Their work will influence a wide range of internal and external audiences as they’re responsible for driving ESG strategy and governance, ensuring we keep abreast of rapidly evolving ESG expectations, disclosures, and regulations, as well as how Inclusion and social impact connects us to the community.

We seek a strategic leader and creative thinker with a track record of supporting complex organizations in all aspects of communication. The successful candidate is a team player with a can-do attitude and the ability to manage multiple senior stakeholders across several organizations, including Revantage, Blackstone and its real estate portfolio companies. This role will have a dotted-line reporting structure to the VP, Inclusion Diversity and Equity (ID&E) Business Partner.

How you add value

  • Develop and execute ESG communications strategies and plans that support business objectives
  • Research/synthesize/benchmark data and information across ESG areas
  • Create presentations, trainings, and internal and external communications
  • Relate ESG and Inclusion initiatives to real-world examples and stories
  • Assist in writing ESG reports and various policies and codes
  • Coordinate with the corporate communications team
  • Design and implement stakeholder and employee-facing ESG/Inclusion messaging for senior leaders, initiatives and events
  • Measure the effectiveness of internal and external ESG/Inclusion communications and channels on an ongoing basis and make recommendations to review and amend as appropriate
  • Build communications to support global and regional board meetings, townhalls, company updates, and deep dive topics, and update and maintain global and regional websites and intranet
  • Stay on top of current and emerging industry trends and make recommendations for changes to communications strategy or messaging pertaining to ESG/Inclusion
  • Write compelling stories especially using varied infographics to capture growth, gaps, and opportunities
  • Develop and maintain a repository of stories, anecdotes and other information throughout the year for inclusion in internal and external channels
  • Assist in aligning all ESG communications, internal and external, with overarching enterprise ESG purpose
  • Assist SMEs and others within the company to prepare for ESG//Inclusion related speaking opportunities or interviews

What You Bring To The Role


  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Public Relations, English, or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in corporate, government, PR, or brand communications
  • Exhibit a deep interest and experience in environmental, social, and governance sustainability and corporate responsibility
  • Experience developing and delivering qualitative and quantitative sustainability and ESG information and communications
  • Must effectively influence without authority by partnering across the enterprise to accomplish goals through others without direct authority
  • Comfortable with competing priorities and managing multiple projects and timelines simultaneously
  • Experience developing successful communications strategies which are effectively deployed across multiple audiences
  • Strong ability to understand, clearly synthesize, and integrate complex issues in presentations, messaging documents, and other communication(s) with key senior-level internal and external audiences
  • Relationship driven, with an ability to work autonomously, whilst maintaining a coordinated approach with the Blackstone communications team
  • Creative project management experience with a passion for branding, creative writing, problem-solving and determination to succeed
  • Outstanding writing and editing skills for different formats including announcements, statements, press release, etc.
  • Proven experience in managing traditional and social media relations
  • Personal credibility in front of senior internal and external audiences
  • Adobe Creative Suite, email distribution platforms (e.g., Marketo, Mailchimp, Twilio, Poppulo, etc.) and content management systems (e.g., SharePoint, Prismic, Drupal, Jumla)
