Why This Role Is Valuable  

Under the direction of the Senior Manager – IT Infrastructure, the Systems Engineer role is responsible for administration, security, design, and maintenance of Revantage and other portfolio companies’ enterprise application and data infrastructure. This role is based out of Revantage’s headquarters in Chicago, IL.

How You Add Value

  • Design, manage, and monitor hybrid workloads across VMWare and Azure infrastructure and platform services (IaaS and PaaS) including new system and service builds, HA/DR requirements and configuration
  • Build processes and systems to manage platform infrastructure and applications leveraging Infrastructure as Code
  • Design, manage, and enhance identity management solutions leveraging Okta, Azure Active Directory, Active Directory domains using security best practices
  • Measure and optimize system performance, with an eye toward pushing our capabilities forward, getting ahead of customer needs, and innovating to continually improve
  • Engineering Support of Windows server platform to include Virtual server provisioning
  • Engineering Support for Active Directory, Azure Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, PKI, and Sites and services, etc.
  • Engineering Support of other areas of technology supported by Server team (Exchange Online, Azure) Okta Single-Sign on and MFA
  • Leverage tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Chef, Puppet for enhanced automation of repetitive tasks
  • Write and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on any tasks
  • Provide Root cause analysis to production outages as required
  • Adhere to IT access-management and change control procedures
  • Design, document, build, test, deploy new or existing solutions, technologies
  • Participate in the design of information and operational support systems
  • Provide 2nd and 3rd level support via a rotating 24x7 on call rotation
  • Ensure Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and Service Level Agreements (SLA) meet or exceed established thresholds
  • Maintain accurate reports and documentation related to network, systems and IT operations
  • Ensure the adherence to company and department policies and procedures, including those IT Department Operations, technology standards, Information Security, and service provision
  • Benchmark, analyze, report on, and make recommendations for the improvement and growth of the IT infrastructure, IT systems and applications
  • As an escalation point, assist with end-user support when system support cannot resolve an issue. Create sustainable systems and services through automation and uplifts
  • Act as a last level of escalation for major company impacting issues, while collaborating with other Technical teams and our Service Desk

What You Bring To The Role


  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of technology experience
  • Minimum 7 years of supporting Windows server platform
  • Microsoft Certifications – AZ-900, AZ-104 or above preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of Power Shell Scripting level 5 or above (highly proficient), additional scripting languages a plus
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience with SSO – Federated services, OKTA preferred
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience with Exchange Online, O365
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience with Citrix preferred
  • Familiar with project management methodologies
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience with Azure and AWS (to include O365)
  • Familiar with IT Infrastructure Security principles and best practices
  • Familiar with DevOps best practices a huge plus
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience using Terraform, Ansible, Chef or Puppet for automation.
  • Solid scripting skills (e.g., PowerShell, Perl, Ruby, Python)
  • Proven working experience in installing, configuring and troubleshooting advanced Windows infrastructures built with the highest level of availability and resiliency as possible
  • Solid Cloud experience, preferably in Azure
  • Extensive experience with virtualization (e.g., VMware, Horizon, SRM, etc.)
  • Experience with monitoring systems
  • Experience with automation software
  • Solid networking knowledge (OSI network layers, TCP/IP).
  • Prior experience in the securities industry
