Responsibilities

Why This Role Is Valuable  

The Payroll Team Lead position is a leader on the Payroll team supervising three payroll administrators and is responsible for assisting with the weekly payroll processes, ensuring over 2,800 employees at 12 Portfolio Companies are paid correctly. Partner closely with the Professional Employer Organization (PEO) provider, Insperity, on payroll and timekeeping processes and procedures. This individual will also ensure compliance with all laws and best practices.

How You Add Value

  • Administer weekly processing of timekeeping data and payroll
  • Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates
  • Oversees procedures and processes and manages inquiries and requests related to preparation and distribution of payroll
  • Vendor Interactions (taxes, garnishments, Quarterly filings review)
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
  • Provide annual compensation planning support
  • Notify Treasury team of wire funding needed for payrolls and provide Treasury team with reports of upcoming payroll amounts for cash flow management
  • Identifies and recommends updates to payroll software, systems, and procedures.
  • Remain up to date on state laws regarding pay and leave administration. Advise of new regulations, recommend changes as needed, and assist with implementing changes to ensure compliance
  • Conduct audits to ensure accurate information within payroll systems, facilitating auditor requests
  • Develop and produce a variety of reports related to employee data, payroll, , etc. according to reporting schedule
  • Supervise three payroll administrators, providing performance management, leadership and time management assistance

Qualifications

What You Bring To The Role

Required:

  • Minimum 7 years payroll and timekeeping system experience
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel, knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Self-motivated with the ability to be flexible in fast-paced, changing environments
  • Collaborative open approach to work and team members
  • Excellent people skills with a focus on solutions to deliver the best service possible

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Accounting / Finance, or related field
