WHY THIS ROLE IS VALUABLE

The VP of Corporate Finance will provide strategic leadership to the Corporate Accounting team and oversee the corporate accounting for Revantage and the Portfolio Companies (PortCos) we support. The role oversees the general ledger close, financial reporting (inhouse and external), cost allocations and invoicing process, and manages the process improvement activities for Revantage and the PortCos. In addition, the role will assist with the preparation of financial data for Revantage quarterly board meetings. The VP will manage PortCo relationships regarding corporate accounting services. The VP will supervise and develop one or more AVPs. This position is based out of Revantage’s headquarters in Chicago, IL. 

Responsibilities

HOW YOU ADD VALUE

Client Service

  • Establish and nurture strong relationships with PortCos and Blackstone, building trust while overseeing their accounting operations.
  • Develop a strong working knowledge of the company's business to provide visibility into financial trends and key financial metrics.
  • Partner with the departments and PortCos to provide financial recommendations and solutions.
  • Provides excellent client service to corporate cost centers, PortCos, Blackstone and other accounting customers ensuring that their information needs and reporting requirements are met.

Corporate Finance

  • Lead the Corporate Finance team
  • Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with US GAAP and other regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee the monthly close process for corporate departments and/or one or more PortCos with varied organizational structures and reporting requirements ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial statements
  • Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and budget to actual variance analysis for Revantage and/or one or more PortCos.
  • Assist in the preparation of materials for board meetings, PortCos, management requests and Blackstone requests.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance financial reporting, efficiency, and effectiveness.
  • Manage process improvement projects from inception to completion, ensuring that they are delivered on time, within budget (if any), and with the highest standards of quality in accordance with management expectations.
  • Oversee all aspects of cost allocations including coding, billing, collections, analysis and reporting.
  • Document, calculate and maintain cost allocation drivers and develop tools to ensure the operational efficiency of these processes.
  • Subject matter expert for cost allocations and associated systems and processes.
  • Train, supervise, and develop Corporate Finance team, and review the work of one or more AVPs.
  • Manage established accounting deadlines.
  • Assist with in-house training programs.
  • Work with external audit and consulting firms as required.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • Minimum 15 years of relevant accounting experience
  • Minimum 5 years of people management experience
  • Commercial real estate knowledge
  • Knowledge of US GAAP
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office (must be highly proficient in Excel), accounting software and databases
  • Excellent communication, problem solving and interpersonal skills necessary
  • Ability to multi-task and manage shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work both independently and in a team environment

Preferred:

  • CPA certification and/or Masters degree
  • Knowledge of accounting software
