WHY THIS ROLE IS VALUABLE

The VP of Captive Insurance will be responsible for overseeing and managing the captive insurance program of an organization. The VP will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining effective captive insurance strategies to mitigate risk, control costs, and enhance overall risk management practices. The position will work closely with the regional IAS teams in Chicago. This position will be based out of Revantage’s offices in Chicago, IL.  Open to considering other locations for exceptional talent.

Responsibilities

HOW YOU ADD VALUE

  • Structure, execute and operate alternative risk structures, including captives and insurance-linked securities. This includes oversite of legal document execution, as well as quantitative analysis.
  • Develop and execute the organization's captive insurance strategy, aligning it with the overall risk management objectives and corporate goals.
  • Identify and analyze the risks faced by Revantage and its affiliated entities to determine which risks are suitable for inclusion in the captive insurance program.
  • Oversee the claims handling process, ensuring timely and accurate claims settlements while detecting and addressing potentially fraudulent activities.
  • Oversee preparation of financial statements and cash management for captives.
  • Effectively communicate complex ideas to stakeholders, including Blackstone, Revantage and the Portfolio Companies.
  • Prepare quantitative analysis to support alternative risk recommendations.
  • Stay up-to-date with local and international insurance regulations, ensuring the captive insurance program complies with all relevant laws and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain and lead relationships with brokers and leading markets, as well as peers, to make sure we are seeing the best ideas.
  • Work with regional Insurance Procurement teams to assist with execution and renewals, related to alternative risk solutions.
  • Continuously assess and enhance the captive insurance program by implementing best practices and exploring innovative risk management solutions.

Qualifications

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE

Required:

  • Quantitative undergraduate degree, such as math, statistics, engineering, economics or business
  • Minimum 10 years of insurance solutions experience, including captives, and/or insurance-linked securities
  • Knowledge in Captive
  • Knowledge across lines of coverage, with emphasis on property insurance
  • First-class interpersonal skills, including relationship building & maintenance
  • Ability to explain complex issues in simple terms
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with internal stakeholders, insurance regulators, and external partners.
  • Proven leadership abilities, including the capability to drive strategic initiatives and manage a diverse team effectively.
  • Sound decision-making skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
