WHY THIS ROLE IS VALUABLE

We are seeking a Sr. Data Engineering Lead with full-stack experience to join Revantage North America’s Engineering team.  This role is charged with developing a unified, modular, composable, and generalized data platform that integrates with dozens of data sources and source systems, ensures data quality, models, and then exposes the data in various forms for consumption by other teams and platforms.  We are looking for seasoned data engineers who have experience with data infrastructure, ETL systems, reporting environments, and working on cloud environments.  This position will be based out of Revantage’s headquarters in Chicago, IL or Dallas, TX. Ideal candidates are naturally curious, are constantly looking out for and eliminating edge cases, and recognize the value of automation and test development early in the development process

 

 

Responsibilities

HOW YOU ADD VALUE

  • Design, develop, and launch extremely efficient and reliable data pipelines to move and transform data to enable downstream consumption and insights
  • Collaborate with other data engineers, analysts, product managers, and customers to implement technical solutions to business problems
  • Support the development process by participating in regular scrum activities, code reviews, and architectural reviews
  • Implement DevOps patterns in conjunction with our SREs
  • Diagnose and solve issues in existing data pipelines, and use learnings to build their successors
  • Build the data pipelines required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL and cloud-based big data technologies
  • Individual will be hands-on and contributing to project deliverables
  • Experience working with code repositories and change control process.
  • Help lead, educate, and collaborate other members of the engineering team on design and development standards and best practices
  • Work within our product development teams to understand and participate in product objective, architecture, and technical design definition 
  • Support a move to continuous integration and deployment processes 

Qualifications

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related experience 
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a data engineering team
  • Significant experience with data pipelines and ETL processes 
  • Strong grasp of Apache Spark, Python and SQL
  • Strong grasp of data related cloud technologies like Apache Airflow or Azure DataFactory, Data Lakes
  • Good grasp of data modeling
  • Familiarity with issues of performance, availability, scalability, reliability, and maintainability of data pipelines
  • Extensive experience working with Python, Spark, RDBMS, OLAP databases
  • Experience interacting with RESTful API's, microservices, and JSON data 

Preferred:

  • Previous experience working in a full-stack development team
  • Experience working on Azure or AWS based data environments
