Why This Role Is Valuable 

The Sr. Accountant, Quality Control, oversees and reviews process improvements, troubleshooting existing activities, GL Mapping from Hotel Operators to our Workday ERP and acts as a liaison between Hospitality Accounting, BRE Hotels & Resorts (BRE) and Revantage IT Technology.  A successful Sr. Accountant, Quality Control is knowledgeable about Hospitality Accounting, the Uniform System of Accounts for The Lodging Industry (USALI), IT Systems and has a strong business acumen and an ability to multitask internal and external requests. This role is based out of Revantage’s headquarters in Chicago, IL or Dallas, TX.

Responsibilities

How You Add Value

  • Roll out standardized procedures and provide training on items such as Workday Account structure, Validations and Mappings, etc.
  • Liaison with IT to test and roll out products such as the BI Tool to produce financial statements
  • Train hospitality team on the process of troubleshooting, particularly around reporting, as well as utilizing the resources available to team
  • Will work in tandem with Hospitality Accounting and Revantage IT Technology on GL Mapping from the Hotel Operators to our Workday ERP, and ultimately be responsible for this responsibility
  • Will be responsible for mapping historical financial data from new Hotel Operators into Workday ERP, and make ongoing changes to the GL Mapping, as required
  • Implement Standardized Automated Workpapers with Hospitality Managers
  • Maintain Monthly Issues Log with specific reporting of root causes and solutions
  • Collaborate with Accounting Technology on Data Quality Rules and Clearing issues with the Hospitality Accounting Team
  • Implement Workday improvements such as spend categories, bank account work tags, new accounts, etc.
  • Directly supervises the following positions: Associates, and Interns, where applicable
  • Provides recommendations to improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions. Ensures direct reports are handling processes in a like and efficient manner
  • Assists with developing and documenting business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
  • Assesses and reacts to changing business conditions, in terms of their impact the organization they lead
  • Ensures team’s processes and procedures support the department’s goals according to guidelines and policies
  • Partners with senior managers to identify and drive external relationships with the team’s key contacts and stakeholders including third party accounting departments and third-party operators accounting teams
  • Assists other PC’s during Project initiatives on an as-needed basis

Qualifications

What You Bring To The Role

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a major in accounting, finance, or technology with relevant experience
  • Minimum 5 years related experience
  • Strong working experience with Workday ERP System, MS Office, Microsoft Power BI and other accounting software
  • Must have knowledge of Uniform System of Accounts for The Lodging Industry (USALI)
  • Requires understanding of financial models, corporate financials, and regulatory market. Drive and desire to learn new technologies and grow technical and functional skill sets
  • Passion for making business processes more efficient and successful
  • Excellent communication, problem solving and interpersonal skills necessary
  • Ability to multi-task and manage shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work both independently and in a team environment

Preferred:

  • Experience with Essbase, Alteryx, Power BI or Tableau
  • Real Estate accounting experience
  • Hospitality accounting experience
  • Masters and/or CPA
